A flue lining of a chimney is defined as “A clay, ceramic or metal conduit installed inside of a chimney, intended to contain the combustion products, direct them to the outside atmosphere, and protect the chimney walls from heat and corrosion”. The liner’s purpose is to keep carbon monoxide, moisture, smoke, creosote and other products of combustion from seeping through the bricks and mortar of your chimney and leaking into your home.
